Greendot - healthy eating Monday, February 13, 2017 @ February 13, 2017Met Zi hui for lunch at Greendot last Friday! They sell vegetarian food which was as delicious as they look! I was initially skeptical as I'm a full fledged meat eater. But after this meal, I'm sold. The laksa here is comparable (or even better as compared) to many others outside! Our food came really quick as Zi hui explained this is similar to a fast food dining concept. Hence the fast service! Our bowl of laksa ($7.50) had a ginormous serving of bean sprouts! Almost a small bowl full of it. I know cause I took out all of them for Zi hui to enjoy:) The laksa contained tau pok, mushroom, prawn ball and konjac prawns. The gravy was nicely rich and mildly spicy. Great for those who don't take spiciness too well. For those who likes their chilli, there's also veg sambal chilli available at the cutlery section for you to add into your meal. Imo, the gravy was comparable to the katong laksa gravy outside just that it's without the dried prawns. The konjac prawn ball and prawns had a nice and slightly bouncy texture. The only take back on this would be that they overcooked the thick bee hoon and it became a bit too soft. But I will most definitely come back for the laksa! We got the standard. And the two veg are chosen from their displayed veg tray displays just next the counter. The rendang was not bad. Tasted similar to those you get outside. The lion mane mushroom was more like the soy made meat at other veg stalls. I initially expected it to be more like slices of mushroom joined tgt. However it's not so! The mushroom had the texture like beef but had the mushroomy taste. All in all, very satisfied with our meal!
