Shida night market (師大夜市)
Wednesday, January 13, 2016 @ January 13, 2016

Off we go to Shida night market.
Take train to Taipower Building Station and exit 3!
Turn right when you exit and another right turn and walk straight down till u pass two watsons.
And on the 2nd watsons, turn right.
Then you're at shida night market!
It's actually a pretty wide area!

Bought umbrellas there.
Rainbow brand, a Taiwanese brand.
And I bought them before.
Though they seem to have increased prices since the last I bought.
Now for a 100% UV protection umbrella it costs TWD390.
and if you want something of the same quality but much lighter, TWD690.
But do bargain!
And buy more for discounts.

Some food I had:-
Fried food that I had last year
Look at the variety!
But they didn't have chicken skin:(
Which was quite good!

Got attracted to this shop just opp the beancurd place I was queuing for.
Joey said the honey drumlets look good!
The kind of stuffs they have.
All these have been BBQ-ed so they'll just cut and add the pepper salt powder and chilli powder.
Look at how deftly he's cutting my drum stick.
I wanted to get the boneless chicken thigh then the guy was like, get the drumstick, it's even better then he added on that he'll de-bone it.
So here it is!
All these for TWD92 (~S$4.05).
I had:-
-3 tau kwa (beancurd- the tougher kind) TWD10
-1 百頁豆腐 hundred page tofu (literally translated) TWD10
-1 honey drumstick TWD45
-1 cabbage that I'm not sure what it is, probably 娃娃菜 the doll veg? TWD12
-1 honey drumlet TWD15
This is my dinner for 1!
And opposite is the very nice beancurd!
Had it last year where ah girl yi yi bought the warm peanut beancurd.
Beancurd's so soft and nice.
Yet not too watery.
This time I tried the 花豆豆花 (hua dou dou hua) TWD35 (~S$1.54).
Don't know what hua dou is but we figured it may be kidney beans.
Though when purchasing, the auntie did not seem to be in a good mood.
The beans were so well cooked that they already lost their shapes and became paste.
And it was sweet too!
A little similar to red bean taste but a little more refreshing.
Definitely worth trying when you're there!
Tried the 鹽酥雞 salted crispy chicken (TWD50) from this stall.
Prices are stated clearly on the board.
Something I appreciate so I can prepare the right amount of change.
Back to the chicken!
Didn't like the taste.
And it was a little tough.
But the stall owners were all very nice.
Hehe.

And then I went towards the drink stall to enquire about the white bitter gourd juice.
But then I got attracted by the braised food smells here.
Which is just a stall or two away from the fried food stall.
Look at all the stuffs to choose!
SO MANY ITEMS!
And they have, of course, large intestines 大腸.
If I could put emojis, there'll be lots of the delicious emojis all around.
My choice for the day cause I'm the only one eating.
Just a bunch of enoki mushrooms (don't they look also most twice the size of those we get fresh from ntuc) and large intestines.
They look pretty clean and kind of long.
So, after choosing your stuffs, hand it over to the uncle and he'll weigh it and tell u how much it'll cost.
For these two, guess what.
It's like so cheap man!
TWD50 (~$2.20)
Where to find man!
And you can admire them being braised in the sauce.
And ta-da!
My dinner part 2 (Total cost: TWD100)
