Ayam penyat's been our lunch arrangement.

The deco is really simple and reminds me of the seating in Korean restaurants

This is actually a franchised brand! 

But food was just meh.

We had soup first

It was something like a clear mee Siam soup cause it's sour and spicy.

Don't quite like it though the two German ladies sitting with us seem to be able to appreciate it and have finished theirs.

Kang kong with sliced chilli for every two pax 

This was not bad! 

But a lil spicy for me 

Ayam penyat! 

It looks not bad and it is

But with really little meat 

And the fried tofu seemed a tad too fermented.

And the chilli really packs a punch once u take a small drop of it

Seriously not joking.

It.is.s.p.i.c.y.

And the sad thing was, about half way through I saw a red ant crawling at the side of my plate and towards the rice

Plus the fact that there's lots of bugs there.

Not really my ideal place of living

Nor would I want to stay long term in.

Oh! And the tour agency has their own snacks and souvenir shop next to the Ayam penyat place.

So you could head over to get some food and gifts after your meal 

We then headed to the biggest temple in bintan 

Looks far right? 

I'm standing at the entrance of the main building and right at the end's the entrance to the temple from the road.

The guide told us that it's a good 200m that we had to travel from the entrance to the building.

Far! 

Gave me the feel of the temple in china where they had the trams to bring u around as the place is really big.

Headed off for the rest of the tour and then to our resort

You're served with a complimentary welcome coconut milk drink 

Which, btw, is absolutely sweet and refreshing

We could see the ppl who stayed just next to us.

But it's a really beautiful place to stay in, away from the urban lifestyle that we're leading.
