The ART Sunday, May 4, 2014 @ May 04, 2014The ART, also known as The Assumption Restaurant of Training.
At 30 cashew road
It's located in Assumption pathway school.
Saw reviews on hgw and it certainly looks promising!
It's like top table at TP and the charcoal restaurant by shatec.
Servers are students and the food's a standard 3 course - soup, main as well as dessert served with coffee/tea.
Well, here's a pic of the place!
The table setting
Ain't expecting much cause it's all done by students, except the food.
So we went ahead to get the set lunch at $12 nett
Woo!
Reasonable for a three course!
Started with a freshly baked bread with almond and some other stuffs
Love the softness of the bread and it was a little sugary.
Could totally do without the butter but I love butter too much to resist XD
Soup of the day was cream of broccoli
But couldn't taste nor see the broccoli
The croutons were too tough and had to make it soak in the soup long enough to make it soft.
Only one of the crouton was nicely crisp.
Ordered a Caesar salad as recommended on hgw but the waiter came to inform us tt it's not available and asked us if we would like the garden salad which I said no to.
But, this came
So I just took it.
Ain't a Caesar salad but just kept it.
Love the veg in it but the thousand Island sauce was too thick to be accompanied nicely with the salad.
Kk's main - tandoori chicken pizza
Too much flour! Hahahha
And tt's for someone who can really eat!
My dory with furikake
Furikake's the Japanese flavouring with black and white sesame seed.
Nicely pan fried and cooked.
Overall the dish was alright
Pretty unique pairing with the seasoning.
Dessert's strawberry ice cream with a strawberry cake?
But the cake part was a little over baked as it's a little tough.
And don't think there's a standardisation here as I noticed whipped cream in the dessert for other tables but not for ours:(
Oh well, a coffee/tea to end the meal!
Nothing much to rave about the coffee.
Not a bad place to have lunch at on a weekday afternoon.
They're open 12-2pm for lunch weekdays and 2-5pm for high tea.
Reservations are recommended but I don't think it's necessary as the restaurant was barely half filled when I arrived at 1:10pm
No dress code but dress proper.
They're operate during school hours and on a first week of June.
Menus change every fortnightly
They showed us the menu for the coming two weeks - 5-16 May!
So, do go and support them if you can:))
