Tenth storey hawker centre (79 Circuit Road) Friday, January 15, 2016 @ January 15, 2016Had dinner at 79 & 79A Circuit Road hawker centre. It's the very long hawker centre opp blk 43 circuit road. Also known as Tenth Storey for their HDBs are all 10 floors high, this hawker centre is home to many good local food like lor mee, oyster omelette and prawn mee just to name a few. Tried the claypot rice today but felt that it was just normal. It's called Nan Xing Claypot Rice There're loads of ingredients like preserved meat (red one), XO preserved meat? (Dark one), salted egg yolk, chicken and veg. Mix well with the oil and dark sauce provided in the bottles. Add more oil cause it's quite dry and more dark sauce! Overall, was just alright. This hokkien mee is just next to the claypot stall. Tian Seng Fried Prawn Mei Guess the noodle word is directly translated from a dialect. Opens: 6:30pm onwards till late Looks good! Saw them drying the fried lard when we arrived. And the queue started forming shortly after they opened. Tempted to try but it'll have to be next time! Teo Kee Fried Oyster Looks like there're not many ppl patronising this stall, but, it's because the uncle takes your order and then you go back and sit down and wait. We ordered around 6:10pm on this Friday evening and our wait's 20 min! And Kk said the uncle cooks one plate at a time hence the long wait. Yay! This is a $4 portion. Quite a few oysters Don't rmb how many I had but should be 4-6. Chilli sauce was nicely soured and a little spicy which is good. Egg and starch was crisp on some parts and soft on the inside. Plenty of fish sauce which made it so tasty. Definitely worth a try but always order this first! The wait is inevitable so if possible, go early!
