Kim Keat Fried Hokkien Mee
Friday, January 1, 2016 @ January 01, 2016

Kk told me of this clay pot hokkien mee in Toa Payoh and we came to try it on the same day.

Here we are at Kim Keat!

We got the $15 portion which some reviewers mentioned was good for 2-3 pax.
After eating, $15 portion is just nice for both of us! $10 would have not satisfied our belly.

Their chilli!
Supposed to take your utensils after ordering.
And chilli is self service too!
Chilli had lots of garlic
But it was slightly spicy.

Blogging whilst waiting for our food.
The stall closes at 9:30 but try to come earlier!
Heard that ours was the last plate.
And we're here around 8:30!

Here's ours!
Still hot and bubbly when it came!
Quite soupy!
After it cooled, the soup was partially absorbed by the noodles.
Love the pork belly cubes that were deep fried till the whole thing was crispy.
The highlight of the dish!
Felt that more of the rice noodle could be added to replace some of the yellow noodles as the soup had more of the yellow noodles' taste.
And more pork lard added to make the whole dish more flavourful.

The seafood was an innovative act though I didn't really manage to taste how it did add on much to the whole dish flavour.
But the prawns were really fresh!

All in all, good to try.
Something uncommon and it was really good.
Plus, when you're there, every table, and I do mean EVERY, are eating/waiting for this claypot to come to them.
Do note that they might close a little earlier than 9:30.
They started cleaning ard 9:10pm today.
So come early to have this!
