Getting from Taipei to Taoyuan International Airport Thursday, January 14, 2016 @ January 14, 2016Heading back today! And we took the bus route back to the airport. Which, as it turns out, was a big mistake cause our luggage were surprisingly heavy. Although I don't recall buying much. We concluded that we should not scrimp on such money and should have taken a cab! Which would cost TWD1,000 per cab. If you're travelling with more ppl, it's actually a better option saving time coupled with the comfort. Anyway, back to the bus! To take the bus, go to Taipei Main Station and take Exit Z3 if you can manage the steps. Alternatively, if you've humongous luggages like us, the escalator might be your better bet. So go to the K underground mall exit which is the exit just before Exit 3. And then walk all the way straight till you see a long escalator on your left. Then head up and the bus terminal is on your right!  Go to counter 1 Kuokuang (國光）to get tickets for bus 1819 (same as the bus from airport to Taipei). Or you can also tell her taoyuan airport.  Though I guess if you're absolutely certain, you can get the round tickets when you arrive at taoyuan airport which should cost you TWD115/way (TWD230 in total) When the bus arrives, the bus driver would ask which terminal you're heading to and from there he'll tell u to place your luggage at the respective places.  It's so close to the buildings on land! And they will stop at Terminal 1 first. So if you're heading to Terminal 2, do allocate about 7-10 min more. Oh, and we took this on a weekday afternoon so the trip was faster. Do rmb to be at the bus terminal at least 3 hours before your flight!
