4 seasons Taiwanese cuisine Wednesday, November 28, 2012 @ November 28, 20124 Seasons Taiwanese Cuisine Went for this last last Sunday. Was at joo Chiat Bought the voucher so it's $14.90 + $5(weekend surcharge)
This was really salty, as though they put the whole can of preserved vegetables in to cook. And I don't think they cleaned the pork very well.
With pork floss.
Just cold tofu with century egg and light sauce.
Not a bad idea. =)
This was not bad.
But a tad too salty.
I know, its salted chicken.
Can make it into smaller pieces though
No texture to the beef
But the egg was just normal, doesn't taste as good as it looks
Not bad=) But a bit long of a wait ![]()
There's chives and beansprouts together with the oyster topping A bit too much of the starch for me though Not a very big fan of starch. Sauce was sweet
This is shiitake mushroom deep fried One of the best dishes here At least the mushroom was moist and wasn't dry and hard. But it'll be better with a mayonaise sauce or chili sauce provided
Super oily Like a good dose of oil poured over it. Brinjal was deep fried but I guess the oil wasn't hot enough so there's still a lot of oil in it. French beans was just cut up and cooked directly with no attempt to clean it. The stems were still there and it was hard and wrinkly. Eww.. More sakura prawns could be used. If you were to eat this make sure to tell them you don't want the brinjal.
The mee sua was not bad. Like those you get from cooking the ones from cold storage Was still intact and doesn't break easily Oyster had this sour taste in it. Don't like. Like its spoilt already, The chitterling(large intestines) was just normal. Had a smelly taste to it. Don't think it was cleaned properly
Like seriously Sweet to the max. Did not see any traces of mango though. And the pork was tough. Like hard kind of tough. Plus more fats/tendons/inedible stuff to meat Overall the food was not bad. But considering the ala carte prices, highly doubt I'll be back. Plus the attitude of the waitress(middle age lady whom I guess is the lady boss) wasn't exactly friendly She was smiling while taking the paper from us and repeating our order but she did not bother explaining to us how this ordering thing works I said all this because she explained and had small talk with all the other tables who came after us. And when we left she told the cashier in chinese(direct translation) : "xiao mei I don't know how you're going to calculate this." referring to the food we had left over. She did not even bother telling us that we will be charged for it and did not even bother to persuade us to finish up the food. I mean, even though its stated, I heard her telling the other table that leftovers would be charged but none was said to our table. Oh well, just a venting from my side.
