Saturday, March 10, 2012 @ March 10, 2012 Tung Lok Seafood Buffet - Orchard Central Normal, not hot enough and was a little hard when served. Salmon head had a lot of bones and the collagen thingy. I found the cereal prawns to be not bad ^^ Better than the one at Pearl River Palace, but the prawns here weren't as fresh. Salmon was good though some pieces were not cut properly. Normal with the sesame oil and sweet and sour seasoning. Zhou's kitchen served better but this is also acceptable. . . . . It is....... Softshell crab. Can you believe it?!?!?!?! Full of flour and don't really have the taste of the softshell crab It looks like they took the body of the softshell crab only. Not bad. Not really worth a mention as the spinach did not make the tofu any better or, if you must know, worse. It's just plain tofu. Siew mai (Top left), Char Siew Bun (Top Right) and Har Gao a.k.a. prawn dumpling (Bottom Left) All were not up to standard, more room for improvement. Not bad=) But the Char Siew Sau could be improved. Very salty and oily dish. No good! This , to me is good! But very, very, very oily! Still, though a little salty, I liked it=) ![]() Equally oily but with the floss it was not bad=) Just don't take too much! Too fattening >.<
Right: Ebi Fry
Sour & spicy soup also like the ones at Lao Beijing, so was alright. ![]() Soup was not bad but a bit too oily. ![]() Didn't take this But looks good though :) ![]() Been eating too much oily food already so was quite sick of this when it came during the ending. ![]() This was good! Though the skin was a tad too thick. But taste homemade!=) DESSERTS TIME!!! :D ![]() This is good! But tasted like those you can get from the supermart so nothing special actually. ![]() Was a little salty but was not to bad. Taste of walnut was not very prominent. And if you do not touch it after a while, the top starts to found the starchy surface and the bottom starts becoming more and more watery. So, conclusion, eat it while its hot! ![]() Just like those you can do with packs of almond jelly mix and canned longans. ![]() It was quite bitter, to my liking=) But not smooth enough. Can still feel bits of the powder but still a must try. Price: Monday to Friday - 11.30am to 3pm $24.80++ $14.80++ (Child) Sat - 11.30am to 3pm, Sun and Public Holiday - 10am to 3pm $26.80++ $16.80++ (Child) Service wise: Good in the beginning, the waitress was friendly in taking our orders and helping us decide what to get. For the desserts part though, the waiter forgot our gui ling gao order and when we finally realised that they've forgotten about it, they replied that there's only one of the item left. Which was really disappointing. You would have expected a restaurant under the tung lok group to have better quality and quantity management. Still, worth a try but no point going on weekends and paying the extra surcharge. **P.S. There's a minimum 4 person for buffet seating!** |
