Sunday, June 5, 2011 @ June 05, 2011 Zhou's Kitchen Dim Sum Buffet Century Egg Porridge And taste of the century egg is mostly consistent in the porridge with minute bits of meat and deep fried you tiao(dough fritters). One of my favs there. Curry chicken. The chicken was easy to pull off and most of the pieces of meat given are without the bones already. Potato that was claimed to be "sweet potato", though felt more like our normal ones, are hard and inadequately done. [Comes with the deep fried bun(same as those that comes with crabs)-you can also request for the steamed ones for a healthier choice=)] Coffee Pork Ribs Fried a little too long. Crispy but a bit too much of flour. Char siew pastry Just alright. Pastry was sweet and the meat in it too. Should have made the pastry dough a little plain so as to not make the entire snack just plain sweet. Vegetarian Spring Roll A good one done. Drunken chicken Don't feel the drunken part. Jellyfish with pork Won't order this again. Carrot cake with XO sauce Minus the fact that it's a little too spicy. But the carrot cake taste really goes well with the egg and bean sprouts. All the soft and crunchy taste together. Hmmm. I feel like eating le!=X Hahas! Deep Fried Bun Taste alright but by the time it came, we finished that bowl of chicken already. So was a little unnecessary. And it makes you feel full! So if possible, tell the waitress that you DON'T WANT IT! Hahas. Then can save stomach space=/ Char Siew Bun The filling had a little too much starch? Cause it was quite gluey Steamed pork ribs with bean sauce And the meat's rather hard. Siew Mai So that the taste would be better. With prawns and mushroom too. This is not bad=) Dumplings in spicy sauce Sauce is not very spicy but don't eat it when it's still steaming hot!! Har gao a.k.a. prawn dumpling But it's totally prawn with fish paste! I like the glutinous rice-very flavourful. But the chicken was quite salty. ***DESSERT TIME*** Black glutinous rice with coconut milk Only took a few mouthfuls. Gui Ling Gao But I prefer the one at Lao Beijing. Taste better to me, I guess. ---OVERALL--- Will go back considering and price and certain food there like the porridge and carrot cake. And one good point to note is that they only steam the dim sum when you order it. That explains the waiting time. It's alright for high tea.
